Welcome to Steering Your Health

Staying healthy and fit is one of my top priorities. I don’t see it as a passing fad, but the way I choose to live my life every day. It’s part of my daily routine, and it directly contributes to my ability to give 100 percent both at work and at home.

At Con-way, we want every truck driver on the road — not just our drivers — to feel empowered and encouraged to make positive changes in their lives, as well as have easy access to the resources and information about staying healthy that they need to be successful. That’s why we created, “Steering Your Health.”

As truck drivers, you might think it’s too hard to watch what you eat and find time to work out, particularly because you spend the bulk of your time behind the wheel. But, there are so many different ways to lose weight, eat well and get in shape — options that are designed to accommodate the unique challenges of your life on the road. With perspectives from various health and fitness professionals both inside Con-way and out, as well as your fellow drivers across the country, it is our hope that Steering Your Health will become a one-stop resource for recipes, health and fitness tips, insights and opinions.

Safety is the key to our business and drivers are our safety ambassadors. A big part of being safe is staying alert and aware of what’s around you. If you’re well rested and energized, you’ll be better able to respond quickly to the many instances of changing road and traffic conditions which come up daily. That benefits you and the motoring public.

So many drivers have found creative ways to look and feel better. With Steering Your Health, you can share what works for you and help your peers develop and foster their own health and fitness goals. Overall wellness does have a role within the truck driving community and together we can make changes that will positively impact the lives of many for years to come.
