Here at CFI, we are honored to celebrate Military Appreciation Month with one of our newest team members, Neil M. Lamont III is our Veterans Advocate at CFI.
Neil will attend military recruitment job fairs, and is tasked with being a voice for our separating military and veteran drivers.
Neil retired from the US Army after 22 years and 9 months of service, spending 12 of those years in overseas theaters of operations. A few of his assignments include US Army Recruiter, Maintenance Control Sergeant Fort Riley (deploying to Tallafar Iraq), Brigade Staff Buamholder Germany (deploying to Camp Mike Spann Afghanistan), Observer Coach Trainer (OCT) at the Joint Readiness Training Center and First Sergeant- Easy Company 1-509 Parachute Infantry Regiment “Geronimo” Fort Polk Louisiana. He is Master Resiliency certified by the University of Pennsylvania.
Reflecting on his role, Neil shared, “I retired from the Army and I cannot tell you how much I miss the camaraderie. The Army, we kind of have our own lingo. I still love to help and talk to our soldiers even though I’m out of the military.”
There are other perks to post separation life as well, Neil enjoys riding dirt bikes and four wheelers with his three daughters, going on family walks and floating on the river.
