Finding safe parking is a concern for nearly all professional drivers. Balancing Hours of Service requirements, satisfying the needs of the customer and the lack of available options can make parking a tricky issue. An app developed with guidance from the American Trucking Association, the American Transportation Research Institute and the National Association of Truck Stop Operators was launched today that may help professional drivers in this area.
“Park My Truck” is a mobile app that gives drivers real time information about truck parking availability at over 5,000 truck stops. That’s 150,000 spots that drivers would have increased visibility to from their phone. Independent truck stops and chain travel plazas are included in the app.
The app has the approval of ATA and can be downloaded at no cost on both the Google Play Store and iTunes.
